Heidi Swapp inspired card

>> June 20, 2013

Annmaree here, and I have a card inspired by the amazing Heidi Swapp using some of her, and Pink Paislee, products. Check it out:

I used a white card base and took some awesome Resistable Paper, which has Resist designs perfect for spraying with Colour Shine. I actually used some Faber-Castell Gelatos in different colours and shades. Cut it into a fish-tail for the centre of my card.

Attached some Heidi Swapp Banners to the top and one of the large Resistable Chipboard Butterflies as my main focal point. For my sentiment I used some stickers from two Buzz Word Sticker packs (as well as the heart).

I'm quite happy with how this one came out, I hope you like it too!

Heidi Swapp Project Life Style

>> June 18, 2013

Hello there lovely Stamp Spot followers!!

Melinda here with you today sharing a Project Life insert I built up using the very gorgeous Heidi Swapp products available in store!

The insert that I am sharing with you is for Mother's Day 2013 and I figured that since it was Mother's Day it was all about me so I could pretty this up more than I ordinarily would!

I started with using Heidi's digi Mother's Day files and cut that on glitter card stock in my Cameo (I used some I had on hand but Michelle has some gorgeous Freckled Fawn glitter card stock available HERE) and found some papers and elements I LOVE in the 6x6 Serendipity Paper Pad, banners and cute stickers. (All available HERE)

Here is the title card

For the 2 "see through" pockets I have used some of the Pink Paislee chipboard hearts and arrows and sprayed them with a combination of mustard, teal and primrose colour shine's. When they dried they were stuck to a piece of acetate that I had cut to size on both the front and back :)

Here are the 2 see through filler cards

That is all the pretty-ing up that I did and I had so much fun!

I used the Becky Higgins Design F page protector (available HERE) to fit more photos and here is the completed front and back sides of my insert

I also used another of the prints from the paper pad for my 2 journalling cards - just cut to size and wrote straight over the top of them.

Thanks for stopping by today and having a read and I hope I have inspired you to think outside the box a little!

3 Card Versions...

>> June 17, 2013

Hello all, Annmaree here, and I hope you all reading this will be getting creative sometime soon!

Today I have not one, or two, but THREE similar, yet different, cards to share...

First a more vintage inspired creation...

Then a super sunny Amy Tangerine inspired one,
using her Sketchbook line of papers.

and Lastly, a Heidi Swapp inspired one,
using her Serendipity line of papers.

All cards feature the Kaisercraft Vintage Memories Treasure stamp, and I used heat embossing in black, white, and silver to give different effects. I went over each with Faber Castell Gelatos! It made for a neat effect!

I hoped you liked seeing my three card versions.

Thank You so much for your lovely comments!

La La Land - June Sketch Challenge Card

>> June 16, 2013

Hi Everyone!

Sandy here to share with you another card that I made using this months sketch

For this card, I've coloured in a La La Lands Craft - Tricycle Marci with Copics. Instead of using the circle shape to highlight the image, I thought I'd change it a bit and used a MFT - Dienamics Fishtail flag instead. The papers are from a Sn@p Life 6x6 paper pad.

Have you had a chance to play along with this months sketch challenge? You can find the link on the right hand side bar. We love to see what you create!

Week 20 Digital

Hello there lovely blog followers of The Stamp Spot, Melinda here today with a new digital Project Life Layout for you!

I am so so so super excited to be getting my hands on my brand new Honey kit which is hopefully hitting the store in the next week or 2 that I have gone ahead and had a play with the digital version so I know what I am going to use for my album when I finally get my hands on my kit! I adore everything about this kit from the colours, to the camera's, to the hearts and the polka dots!! I have only used a selection of what comes in the kit but here you go :)

Here is my week 20 left hand spread

I have even included a short vid of my gorgeous baby boy making his first moves crawling - one of the many, many things I LOVE about capturing my families life right now in this format.
I have also coloured up the right hand hexagon on each of the 4 3x4 cards to match the left hand hexagon in the next pocket!

Here is the right hand side

I have used my brand new app "A Beautiful Mess" on the square photos which I had a lot of fun with and have used some elements from a digi kit from "Wishing Well Creations" called Monstrously Cute Monst-him. My Week 20 PNG is from the lovely Janet over at Snow Moon on Etsy and the "Friday" brush is of course one of Heidi Swapp's brush sets :)

Here is both left and right together

I hope you have enjoyed this little peek into my family's life during week 20 of 2013!!

If you are like me and patiently awaiting the arrival of your brand new physical kit from Michelle they should be in store very soon. If unlike me, you couldn't make up your mind (I mean all the new kits are gorgeous!!) keep your eyes peeled as I'm sure that Michelle is going to let us all know when they arrive and if you would like to secure yours before they arrive head over HERE and pre-order before the stock arrives!!

Have a great day (or night if you are an international follower) and get your Project Life on :)

Washi Title

>> June 12, 2013

Hello there, Melinda here with a quick little post using washi tape!!

Today I am sharing with you a Smash* page I have done of my gorgeous niece and I have used washi tape for to spell out her name :)

This is a super cute technique and super easy to boot!!

All I did was pick a tape and grab some white card stock. I then laid the washi in strips on the card, cut to size and ran through my Big Shot with my letter dies and also the hearts :)

Hope you are enjoying another washi Wednesday and this little post :)

Washi Tape Magnets

Annmaree again here to share with you another idea for using Washi Tape for this Washi Wednesday Sale Day ($1.50 Washi Tape - Cheapest in Australia! and buy 10 you get one free!)

I made some Washi Tape Magnets! That (hopefully) look like ripped strips of Washi:

All you need to do to make these is to take a flexible flat magnet from the fridge you don't need or want anymore... You know the free ones that you often get in the mail, or from various businesses, and they sit on your fridge for a long time.

Or if you don't have any of those, many craft and dollar stores sell magnetic sheets cheap.

My one was a business card size, and it was very easy to separate the front decal from the magnet back! So I had just a plain white front to stick some Washi Tape down onto.

Then I simply trimmed the Washi, and cut the magnet and Washi into strips.

I snipped the edges to look like torn jagged edged tape, for that ripped Washi effect:

So when I was done I had two functional magnets, that still looked like some funky tape!

These would be great to go around photographs, or kids pictures and awards, grades etc on the refrigerator. Being just the flat rubbery type of magnet, they are only good for light papers, but definitely very useful and pretty to boot!

So I hope you might try this out yourself, and make some pretty
 and functional Washi Tape Magnets!

Washi BIRD!

Hi all, Janet here with an example of using Washi Tape ... for this card I have used them as feathers for my bird ...

Cute aye :)  It is pretty simple to make - cut 2 circles for the body and head (one larger than the other) then layer your favourite Washi Tape on white card, trim down to size and arrange them like feathers and secure them behind the large of the 2 circles ...
I have used a pair of googly eyes, although buttons would work and for the beak I just cut a black triangle.  I then doodled and outer edge on each circle and also on the card as the legs and border.
So ladies is your shopping cart full of Washi Tape?  if not head over to The Stamp Spot and fill it up as at $1.50 that is just an absolute bargain!
Enjoy your day - Janet
