Walk Beside Me - A layout
July 19, 2009
I know, I know - I seem to have hit the wall on blogging again. I wanted to keep my RAK post up the top, that can be my excuse.
DD is on school holidays, hubby has been home from work and we bought a new house last week, so my time has been taken up with sorting out all the fun and games that comes with that. But apart from the building inspection still to be done, looks like the house will settle in about four weeks - then the real fun begins. Not moving just yet, will rent it out for a bit, but we are looking at being closer to DD school, I won't be doing my 30km a day to and from school!
Thought I would share this layout that I made for one of the challenges over at Ready Set Scrap. The July theme challenge was 'Friendship' and we were asked to use a friendship quote as the title. The other prerequisite was to add some lace somewhere!
This photo is one of my top three faves of DD and DH ... she was two when this was take, the two of them strolling along the grass at the zoo, not knowing I had taken it. Everytime I look at it, my heart still goes ahhhhh.
So I have used some of the new June Bug papers from Basic Grey as well as their element stickers that match. Notice my two pieces of lace just popped up the top there. Sneaky!
The saying says "Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow. Don't walk behind me, I may not lead. Walk beside me and be my friend". And it is so true, she and her daddy are the best of mates.
Click on the layout for a better look - the grey skies that have hovered here for the last couple of weeks are making photo taking so hard!
I'll be making some announcements this week about the RAK I have on offer (today is your last chance!) and about the Design Team. Otherwise, have a great Sunday.

What s gorgeous Challange entry, love the shapes an swirls. And congratulations on the new house, wow now comes the fun bit, packing etc, the one good thing about packing is you get to do a good clean out, an for awhile you know where every-thing is when you un-pack lol
hugs

Beautiful Page Marcia,It is so precious.
reminded me of a page I did of my daughter and her daddy, when she was about 18 months old(she is now 34) here's the poem I did.
Walk alongside me, Daddy
and hold my little hand.
I have so many things to leatn
that I don't yet understand.
Teach me things to keep me safe
from dangers every day.
Show me how to do my best
at home, at school,at play.
Every child needs a gentle hand
to guide them as they grow,
So walk alongside me daddy..
we have a long way to go.
Maybe I will have to put it on my blog. I have so many pages I have scrapped, do moer cards these days.
Hugs Carol xx
